NeuEra - Certified Movement Architect - Module 3, The Beast
“Whatever can go forward must also be able to go backwards and sideways.” Locomotion, such a rich and complex subject!
There are obviously several ideologies and schools of thought around the practice of “movement”, but once again, I like to base myself on a few fundamental principles to deliver the content of this module.
Learning to move in space is one of the first things that drives us in our first year of life and once we have mastered walking and running, it's as if we take for granted that everything what needed to be learned is now crossed off the list.
I make a point of revisiting primary movements to then explore and build a complexity that will challenge many. For coordination, balance, joint health and mobility, the movements will be beneficial on several levels. One of the notable advantages is to develop agility which will have a significant impact both in sporting practice and in everyday life. Enough to review the way he moves!
I have already heard that practicing Capoeira changes the way a person walks. So developing locomotion movements will bring you grace and fluidity in all your movements!
